Please take the time to meet some of the staff and young volunteers, and find out what they do. We will add to this page all the time so keep popping back!
Due to Heritage Lottery funding we are very lucky to be able to employ a project worker for 1.5 days a week for the next 18 months for our Project TreeCycle. Our Project Worker is also a volunteer of the Group and will continue to volunteer for 3 days a week.
Over the past 8 years we have achieved where we are today by sheer hard work, long days/nights, total committment and determination. We have be sponsored, supported and helped along the way by some tremendous professionals from across UK. Thank you!
Everyone who has been involved in the Group in the last 8 years has been a volunteer!
Although we have a steering group/committee everyone in the Group has the chance to make the decisions, and is also land manager through our ownership of The Colin Burt Reserve for Wildlife Conservation. Therefore the Group is run by all of us!

Mark Pearson - Mark is the Group founder and Chairman.

Sharon Pearson - Sharon is the Group Treasurer and carries out an enormous amount of admin behind the scenes keeping us right on aspects of insurance, charity policy and finanical management.

Caroline Burt - Cazz has been the Project Woodland manager for the past 3 years and has helped with the general day to day running of the Group, looking after the public relations and admin. Project Woodland is the project name of our wildlife reserve. She has now just been successful in the recruitment process for the post of Project TreeCycle Project Officer.
Steven Hepburn - Steven is the Group's secretary and has been with the Group from day one. A very dedicated volunteer he drops everything to help on short notice tasks. Steven is one of those special young volunteers who could fly before he could drive! Currently he is at university in Glasgow reading aeronautical engineering and also works for the airline Globespan. All the rest of his spare time is taken up by the Group. He promises that when he becomes an airline pilot he will fly all the Group volunteers away to explore some exotic location!
Paul Coakley - Paul has been with the Group from nearly the start and has excelled in the practical countryside environment. He is out on every project and spends all his spare time working for the Group or out learning about the trees, plants and animals. He has attended Elmwood College and with his HNC in Countryside Management he is with Scottish Native Woods on a years placement. Paul is our education officer and woodland manager. He will make a fantastic woodland officer for the Forestry Commision or a countryside ranger if anyone is looking for one!

John Band - John is a Civillian Instructor with Auchtermuchty Air Cadet Squadron and has been with the Group for around 5 years. He is our Mr Fix it and will put his hand to repairing anything for us. He has a wealth of solutions and ideas especially when working with wood. John is retired and can be seen out working on Group tasks at least 2 days a week, without including the weekends!
Alistair Mcleod - Alistair was the first Explorer Scout to join the Group around 5 years ago and has stayed with us ever since. He has completed the HNC in Countryside Management and at present is a ranger at the Scottish Deer Centre near Cupar. He has just taken on the role as a technical officer for the Group. Along with Simon Lockwood, Scottish Native Woods, he will advise us on all the technical aspects of each project we undertake. If he doesn't know he will find a person who does, so watch out if you see him heading your way!

Simon Lockwood has been a tremendous supporter of the Group over the past 2 years. He actually works for Scottish Native Woods but kindly joined us as a volunteer technical adviser. Simon has an amazing knowledge about everything to do with woodlands and machinery. Over the time he has been with us our skills and knowledge has increased while working on projects with him. He has a special way of putting over his knowledge to our young volunteers so they go away remembering what he has taught them. Any request for help and Simon will be there, always with a smile and always full of ideas, enthuasium, support and strength.
